Background

NCK1 is a cytoplasmic adaptor protein containing three SH3 domains and one SH2 domain, which allows it to mediate interactions between receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and downstream effectors in signaling pathways. NCK1 is involved in actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell motility, and immune synapse formation by linking signaling proteins such as WASP, WAVE, and PAK1.
