Cell Death-Inducing DFFA-Like Effector B (CIDEB) Antibody

Background

CIDEB is a protein critical for lipid metabolism and apoptosis, primarily expressed in the liver and associated with lipid droplet formation and triglyceride metabolism. It regulates lipid droplet growth and lipoprotein secretion, influencing hepatic lipid storage and export. CIDEB also participates in apoptosis by promoting the activation of caspase-dependent pathways, contributing to programmed cell death under stress conditions. Dysregulation of CIDEB has been implicated in liver diseases such as steatosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and liver fibrosis. Targeting CIDEB-mediated pathways is being explored for the treatment of metabolic liver diseases and conditions associated with altered lipid metabolism.
