ATP Binding Cassette Transporter C3 (ABCC3) Antibody

Por favor contáctenos para obtener información detallada sobre el precio y disponibilidad.
Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra and intra-cellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the MRP subfamily which is involved in multi-drug resistance. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined; however, this protein may play a role in the transport of biliary and intestinal excretion of organic anions. Alternatively spliced variants which encode different protein isoforms have been described; however, not all variants have been fully characterized.

Descripción
ABCC3, also known as multidrug resistance-associated protein 3 (MRP3), is expressed on the basolateral membrane of hepatocytes, enterocytes, and other epithelial cells. It facilitates the efflux of organic anions, including bile acids, glucuronides, and sulfated metabolites, from cells into the bloodstream for subsequent excretion via the kidneys. ABCC3 is upregulated in conditions where bile flow is impaired, such as cholestasis, serving as a compensatory mechanism to reduce intracellular bile acid toxicity. It also transports drug conjugates and metabolites, playing a critical role in drug resistance and disposition. ABCC3 is highly expressed in tissues such as the liver, intestines, and pancreas, where it contributes to detoxification and cellular protection. Dysregulation of ABCC3 has been linked to altered drug pharmacokinetics and resistance to chemotherapy.
