Description
May be a crucial component of the cytoskeleton of highly motile cells, functioning both in the invagination of large pieces of plasma membrane, as well as in forming protrusions of the plasma membrane involved in cell locomotion. In mycobacteria-infected cells, its retention on the phagosomal membrane prevents fusion between phagosomes and lysosomes.

Descripción
Coronin 1A (CORO1A) is a member of the coronin family of proteins, which play key roles in regulating actin dynamics and cellular processes such as endocytosis, cytokinesis, and immune cell signaling. CORO1A, specifically, is crucial for the function of immune cells, including T cells and macrophages. It is involved in controlling actin polymerization and organization, which affects cell motility, phagocytosis, and intracellular trafficking.
