Descripción
ANXA10 is a member of the annexin family that binds to calcium and phospholipids to mediate membrane-related processes, including membrane trafficking and signal transduction. ANXA10 expression is largely restricted to the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in the stomach and liver, where it contributes to cell differentiation and epithelial integrity. Dysregulation or loss of ANXA10 expression has been associated with gastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other gastrointestinal malignancies, serving as a marker for tumor progression and poor prognosis. Its role in maintaining epithelial cell homeostasis underscores its importance in gastrointestinal health and disease.
