ANXA4 plays a role in calcium signaling, contributing to ion transport and epithelial barrier function. Overexpression of ANXA4 has been observed in cancers such as ovarian, breast, and gastric cancers, where it promotes tumor cell migration and chemoresistance. Its role in maintaining membrane integrity and ion balance highlights its importance in epithelial homeostasis and tumor progression.
