Descripción
ADCY2 is a transmembrane enzyme expressed widely in the central nervous system and cardiac tissues. It is activated by Gαs proteins and regulated by forskolin and calcium signaling. ADCY2 plays a central role in converting ATP to cAMP, which mediates various cellular responses, including neurotransmission, hormone signaling, and metabolism. It is particularly important in modulating synaptic communication and neuronal excitability. Mutations or alterations in ADCY2 expression have been associated with mood disorders, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, highlighting its significance in brain function.

Adenylate Cyclase 2, Brain (ADCY2) Antibody
This gene encodes a member of the family of adenylate cyclases, which are membrane-associated enzymes that catalyze the formation of the secondary messenger cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). This enzyme is insensitive to Ca (2+) /calmodulin, and is stimulated by the G protein beta and gamma subunit complex.
