Descripción

ACTR5, also known as ARP5, is a component of chromatin remodeling complexes, such as INO80. Unlike cytoskeletal actin, ACTR5 does not participate in filament formation but interacts with chromatin to regulate nucleosome positioning and transcription. Structurally, ACTR5 has actin-like ATP-binding domains essential for chromatin remodeling. It plays critical roles in DNA repair, replication, and transcriptional activation. Disruption of ACTR5 impairs genomic stability and has been linked to cancer development due to defective chromatin maintenance.
