ACTR2 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against ACTR2. The specific function of this gene has not yet been determined; however, the protein it encodes is known to be a major constituent of the ARP2/3 complex. This complex is located at the cell surface and is essential to cell shape and motility through lamellipodial actin assembly and protrusion. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Background

ACTR2 is a core component of the ARP2/3 complex, which nucleates new actin filaments in response to cellular signaling. Structurally, ACTR2, along with ACTR3, mimics the barbed end of actin filaments, initiating polymerization at branch points. It is essential for lamellipodia and filopodia formation during cell migration, phagocytosis, and endocytosis. ACTR2 is highly conserved and ubiquitously expressed. Dysregulation of ACTR2 is associated with impaired cell motility and invasion, particularly in cancer cells, where actin remodeling is critical for metastasis.
