Descripción
Acrosin Binding Protein (ACRBP), also known as sp32, is a protein found in the acrosome of sperm cells. It plays a significant role in the regulation and stabilization of acrosin, a crucial enzyme for the fertilization process. ACRBP is essential for proper acrosome function and sperm-oocyte interaction.The acrosome is a specialized structure located at the tip of the sperm head, containing enzymes like acrosin that are essential for sperm penetration through the protective layers surrounding the egg during fertilization. This protein is located in the sperm acrosome and is thought to function as a binding protein to proacrosin for packaging and condensation of the acrosin zymogen in the acrosomal matrix
