Description
Implicated in a number of cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, caspase-dependent and caspase-independent apoptosis, suppression of transformation (tumor suppressor), inhibition of protein phosphatase 2A, regulation of mRNA trafficking and stability in association with ELAVL1, and inhibition of acetyltransferases as part of the INHAT (inhibitor of histone acetyltransferases) complex. Plays a role in E4F1-mediated transcriptional repression.

Descripción
ANP32A is a multifunctional nuclear phosphoprotein involved in chromatin remodeling, RNA splicing, and cell cycle regulation. ANP32A interacts with histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs), playing a critical role in regulating gene expression and epigenetic modifications. It is also involved in apoptosis and cellular stress responses, where it mediates pathways controlling cell survival and death. ANP32A is implicated in tumorigenesis, acting as either a tumor suppressor or facilitator depending on cellular context. Additionally, it has roles in influenza viral replication by interacting with viral polymerases, making it a key factor in host-virus interactions. Its diverse regulatory functions highlight its importance in nuclear processes and disease mechanisms.
