Descripción
TSPY like 5 (TSPYL5) is a protein closely related to other members of the TSPY family and involved in regulating cellular functions such as gene expression and cell differentiation TSPYL5 shares structural and functional similarities with the TSPY gene family, particularly in its role as a regulator of transcriptional activities The protein is expressed in various tissues and may be crucial for maintaining normal cell function and development during processes such as neurogenesis and gonadal development TSPYL5’s precise role in apoptosis and cell cycle regulation remains an area of active research, with studies indicating that it could be involved in modulating the balance between cell survival and death Dysregulation of TSPYL5 expression has been implicated in certain cancers, where it may influence the survival and differentiation of tumor cells Additionally, its role in maintaining genomic stability and regulating cellular responses to stress suggests that TSPYL5 is important for protecting against cellular damage and diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration
