Descripción

TSPY like 1 (TSPYL1) is a protein that shares homology with the testis-specific protein Y (TSPY) gene family, playing a role in regulating gene expression and cellular differentiation TSPYL1 is involved in cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and DNA repair It has been shown to participate in modulating transcription by interacting with other regulatory proteins and affecting chromatin dynamics TSPYL1's expression is particularly prominent in testicular tissue, but it is also found in other tissues, where it may contribute to the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation In the context of cancer, TSPYL1 has been implicated as a tumor suppressor, where its loss or downregulation may promote tumor growth and metastasis Recent studies suggest that TSPYL1’s role in DNA repair and stress responses may help protect against genomic instability, further emphasizing its importance in maintaining cellular function and preventing cancer development TSPYL1 could serve as a potential biomarker for certain cancers and a target for therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring its function to suppress tumor growth

Testis-Specific Y-Encoded-Like Protein 1 (TSPYL1) Antibody

The protein encoded by this gene is found in the nucleolus and is similar to that of a family of genes on the Y-chromosome. This gene is intronless. Defects in this gene are a cause of sudden infant death with dysgenesis of the testes syndrome (SIDDT).
