SOCS5 is expressed in lymphoid tissues, epithelial cells, and adipose tissues, where it modulates immune regulation, cytokine sensitivity, and energy homeostasis. It is particularly important for regulating allergic inflammation and T-cell polarization during immune responses. Dysregulation of SOCS5 is associated with allergic diseases, asthma, and autoimmune disorders due to imbalanced cytokine signaling. Functional studies reveal its role in controlling IL-4-driven responses, preventing excessive Th2-mediated inflammation.
