Descripción
SEMA3F (Semaphorin 3F) functions as a potent mediator of axonal guidance, angiogenesis, and tumor suppression. It exerts its effects primarily through interactions with neuropilin-2 (NRP2) and plexin receptors, inducing cytoskeletal changes that promote repulsion in axonal and endothelial cells. SEMA3F plays a pivotal role in neural development by regulating neuronal wiring and synaptic connectivity. In the vascular system, it acts as an anti-angiogenic factor, inhibiting abnormal vessel growth. Its expression is often downregulated in various cancers, correlating with increased tumor invasiveness and metastatic potential.
