Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Taste Receptor Type 2 Member 123 (TAS2R123) is one of the specialized receptors within the TAS2R family, responsible for identifying bitter substances and initiating protective responses. This receptor is expressed in taste buds, where it plays a key role in preventing the ingestion of potentially harmful toxins by triggering the sensation of bitterness. Activation of TAS2R123 involves the binding of bitter ligands, which initiates a G-protein-mediated signaling cascade, culminating in calcium ion release and neuronal activation. Beyond taste perception, TAS2R123 has functional significance in non-gustatory tissues, where it contributes to pathogen detection and immune responses. Variations in the TAS2R123 gene are associated with differences in individual taste preferences, with implications for nutrition and dietary health.
