PHD Finger Protein 11 like (PHF11L) is a member of the PHD finger protein family, characterized by the presence of a PHD zinc finger domain, which is commonly involved in chromatin-mediated transcriptional regulation and epigenetic modification. It plays a significant role in modulating immune responses by regulating gene expression related to lymphocyte activation, proliferation, and differentiation. PHF11L has been implicated in transcriptional activation of cytokine genes and is particularly associated with enhanced expression of Th2 cytokines like IL-4 and IL-13, influencing allergic responses and asthma susceptibility. It also interacts with chromatin remodeling complexes, suggesting its role in modifying histone marks to regulate access to transcriptional machinery.
