Rat Neuroserpin (SERPINI1) ELISA Kit is an ELISA Kit for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Rat Neuroserpin concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids.
Background
Inhibitory serpins have been shown to function in processes as diverse as DNA binding, chromatin condensation, immunoregulation ,apoptosis and haemostasis. Serpins are a broadly distributed protease inhibitors that use the conformational change as a mechanism of action. They are central in controlling many important proteolytic cascades. Phylogenetically Serpins superfamily organized in "Clades", named by letters. The following numbers shows the position in the glade. Serpin named as a SERPINXy, (where X is the clade and y is the number within that clade) many serpins also have alternative names from before this classification was proposed. Structuraly Serpinsare three β-sheets (A, B and C), 8-9 α-helices (termed hA-hI) and the reactive center known as reactive center loop (RCL)Neuroserpin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SERPINI1 gen. Neuroserpin inhibits the activity of an enzyme called tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), which plays a role in cell movement (migration), blood clotting, and inflammation.
