Background
Neuregulin 2 (NRG2), though structurally similar to NRG1, displays distinct expression patterns and specialized functions. Predominantly found in the brain, NRG2 is integral to synaptic stability, neurotransmission, and neural development. By signaling through ErbB receptor pathways, NRG2 contributes to the interactions between neurons and glial cells, thus supporting neural network formation and maintenance.
