Description
Rat gp130 Protein is a recombinant protein from Rat produced in HEK293 Cells. A DNA sequence encoding the rat IL6ST (NP_001008725.2) extracellular domain (Met 4-Glu 618) was fused with the C-terminal polyhistidine-tagged Fc region of mouse IgG1 at the C-terminus.

It functions as a common signal transducer for the IL-6 family of cytokines, which includes IL-6, IL-11, leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF), cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1), and others. IL6ST/gp130 is a key receptor component in the JAK/STAT signaling pathway and is widely expressed in various cell types, including immune cells, neurons, hepatocytes, and endothelial cells.
