This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

ACTN2 encodes alpha-actinin-2, a muscle-specific isoform of the actinin family, expressed predominantly in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues. It functions as a structural component of the sarcomere, anchoring actin filaments to the Z-discs and contributing to the maintenance of sarcomere integrity during muscle contraction. ACTN2 also plays a role in signal transduction by interacting with a variety of signaling and cytoskeletal proteins, modulating muscle development and repair. Mutations in ACTN2 are associated with cardiomyopathies, including hypertrophic and dilated cardiomyopathy, where impaired sarcomeric organization leads to reduced cardiac function. Its critical role in sarcomere structure and interaction with signaling pathways highlights its importance in maintaining muscle function and responding to mechanical stress.

Actinin Alpha 2 (ACTN2) Antibody

ACTN2 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against ACTN2. Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily which represents a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins, including the alpha and beta spectrins and dystrophins. Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with multiple roles in different cell types. In nonmuscle cells, the cytoskeletal isoform is found along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, where it is involved in binding actin to the membrane. In contrast, skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle isoforms are localized to the Z-disc and analogous dense bodies, where they help anchor the myofibrillar actin filaments. This gene encodes a muscle-specific, alpha actinin isoform that is expressed in both skeletal and cardiac muscles. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
