Descripción

RAB9A, member RAS oncogene family (RAB9A) is a GTPase that plays a key role in regulating vesicle transport between the late endosomes and the trans-Golgi network RAB9A is essential for the sorting and recycling of internalized proteins and lipids, particularly in the process of transporting cargo from the endosomes to the Golgi apparatus for further processing or secretion It is involved in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis by regulating the proper trafficking and degradation of internalized material In addition to its role in vesicular trafficking, RAB9A has been implicated in regulating cellular signaling pathways that influence immune responses, receptor recycling, and the dynamics of intracellular communication Alterations in RAB9A’s function are linked to various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders, where disrupted vesicular trafficking leads to abnormal cell proliferation, tumor progression, and defective cellular waste clearance
