Descripción
RAB5C, member RAS oncogene family (RAB5C) is closely related to RAB5B and has similar functions in regulating early endosomal trafficking and vesicle fusion RAB5C participates in receptor-mediated endocytosis, controlling the internalization and sorting of membrane proteins for recycling or degradation It plays an essential role in maintaining cellular membrane dynamics and the regulation of the Golgi apparatus and lysosomal functions RAB5C is also involved in the modulation of cell signaling pathways, particularly those related to growth factor receptors and tyrosine kinase signaling Its dysfunction is associated with disorders involving defective cellular trafficking, including cancer, where disruptions in vesicular transport may promote tumor progression and drug resistance In addition, RAB5C is involved in regulating the immune response, with potential implications in immune cell trafficking and receptor regulation
