Descripción
Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type C Associated Protein (PTPRCAP), also known as CD45-associated protein, is a regulatory component of the CD45 phosphatase complex. CD45 is a transmembrane protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all nucleated hematopoietic cells and is essential for T-cell receptor (TCR) and B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling. PTPRCAP modulates CD45 activity, influencing immune cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation. It contributes to the regulation of lymphocyte signaling thresholds, thereby impacting immune responses and tolerance. Alterations in PTPRCAP expression or function are implicated in immune-related disorders, including autoimmunity and immunodeficiency. The protein plays a role in maintaining immune homeostasis and is a subject of interest for therapeutic interventions targeting immune dysregulation. Further studies are needed to clarify its precise mechanisms and broader biological roles in immune signaling.
