PEO Western Blot (WB) IgG is a qualitative test of serological IgG diagnosis by immunoblot assay of the bird-breeder’s lung disease (BBD). It is intended for confirmatory testing of a positive or equivocal result obtained through classic screening tests.

Background
Bird fancier’s lung (BFL) is one of the most common forms of hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) caused by the inhalation of avian proteins located in droppings, blooms and feathers. Produced by feathers, blooms consist of an abundant fine white powder (talcum).What can also be variable is the species of birds. Often Pigeon and poultry. La neumonitis del aficionado a las aves (BFL) es una de las formas más comunes de neumonitis por hipersensibilidad (HP) causada por la inhalación de proteínas aviares presentes en excrementos, plumas y polvo de aves. Producidas por las plumas, las partículas de polvo de aves consisten en un polvo blanco fino y abundante (talco). Lo que también puede variar es la especie de aves.
