Descripción

Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (NR4A1), also known as Nur77, is a nuclear receptor involved in regulating a variety of physiological processes, including cell growth, apoptosis, immune responses, and metabolism NR4A1 is activated in response to signaling molecules, such as cytokines and hormones, and regulates the expression of genes involved in inflammation, cell survival, and differentiation It plays a key role in controlling apoptosis, particularly in immune cells, where it helps eliminate damaged or infected cells NR4A1 is also involved in regulating metabolism, including glucose and lipid homeostasis, by modulating the expression of genes that control energy balance Dysregulation of NR4A1 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, autoimmune diseases, and cardiovascular conditions, where altered NR4A1 signaling contributes to tumorigenesis, inflammation, and metabolic dysfunction Additionally, NR4A1’s role in regulating immune responses and apoptosis makes it a potential target for therapeutic interventions aimed at controlling inflammation and promoting cell death in cancerous or infected cells
