Descripción

NR0B2 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody against NR0B2. The protein encoded by this gene is an unusual orphan receptor that contains a putative ligand-binding domain but lacks a conventional DNA-binding domain. The gene product is a member of the nuclear hormone receptor family, a group of transcription factors regulated by small hydrophobic hormones, a subset of which do not have known ligands and are referred to as orphan nuclear receptors. The protein has been shown to interact with retinoid and thyroid hormone receptors, inhibiting their ligand-dependent transcriptional activation. In addition, interaction with estrogen receptors has been demonstrated, leading to inhibition of function. Studies suggest that the protein represses nuclear hormone receptor-mediated transactivation via two separate steps: competition with coactivators and the direct effects of its transcriptional repressor function.

Background

Nuclear receptor subfamily 0 group B member 2 (NR0B2), also known as SHP, is a nuclear receptor that acts as a key regulator in the control of metabolism and endocrine signaling NR0B2 functions by repressing the activity of other nuclear receptors involved in processes such as lipid metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and circadian rhythm regulation It is particularly involved in the regulation of liver function, where it helps control the expression of genes involved in bile acid synthesis and cholesterol metabolism NR0B2 exerts its effects by binding to DNA and interacting with other transcription factors to suppress gene expression in response to physiological signals The protein is also involved in maintaining metabolic balance by modulating the actions of thyroid hormone receptors, liver X receptors, and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) Dysregulation of NR0B2 has been associated with metabolic disorders, such as obesity and diabetes, as well as liver diseases and certain cancers Its role in regulating energy metabolism and endocrine pathways makes NR0B2 a critical factor in maintaining cellular and systemic homeostasis and a potential therapeutic target for metabolic diseases
