Mouse Thyroxine Binding Globulin / TBG (SERPINA7) ELISA Kit is an ELISA Kit for the in vitro quantitative measurement of Mouse Thyroxine Binding Globulin / TBG (SERPINA7) concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.
Inhibitory serpins have been shown to function in processes as diverse as DNA binding, chromatin condensation, immunoregulation ,apoptosis and haemostasis. Serpins are a broadly distributed protease inhibitors that use the conformational change as a mechanism of action. They are central in controlling many important proteolytic cascades. Phylogenetically Serpins superfamily organized in "Clades", named by letters. The following numbers shows the position in the glade. Serpin named as a SERPINXy, (where X is the clade and y is the number within that clade) many serpins also have alternative names from before this classification was proposed. Structuraly Serpinsare three β-sheets (A, B and C), 8-9 α-helices (termed hA-hI) and the reactive center known as reactive center loop (RCL). The SERPINA7 gene, also known as TBG, codes for thyroxine-binding globulin, a protein responsible for transporting thyroid hormones in the bloodstream, facilitating their distribution and function in the body, with the thyroid gland playing a central role in this hormonal regulation.
