This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

TAS2R3 is another member of the type 2 taste receptor family, involved in detecting bitter tastes. It is expressed in the taste buds, where it plays a role in identifying bitter compounds. TAS2R3 responds to a variety of bitter substances, contributing to the broader ability to detect potentially toxic or undesirable chemicals in food and the environment. The receptor activates intracellular signaling pathways upon binding with bitter ligands, generating a bitter taste sensation. TAS2R3, like other bitter taste receptors, is believed to be involved in evolutionary defense mechanisms, helping organisms avoid consuming toxic or harmful substances. Research has shown that TAS2R3 may have variations that impact individual preferences for bitter foods, influencing dietary choices and, in some cases, influencing an individual’s sensitivity to certain foods or drinks. Understanding TAS2R3 can shed light on how genetic factors influence taste preferences and eating behaviors.

Taste 2 Receptor Member 3 (TAS2R3) Antibody

This gene encodes a member of a family of candidate taste receptors that are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily and that are specifically expressed by taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelia. These apparently intronless taste receptor genes encode a 7-transmembrane receptor protein, functioning as a bitter taste receptor. This gene is clustered with another 3 candidate taste receptor genes in chromosome 7 and is genetically linked to loci that influence bitter perception.
