This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein.

Descripción

Taste Receptor Type 2 Member 109 (TAS2R109) is a part of the bitter taste receptor family, primarily located in the taste buds of the tongue, where it detects bitter compounds to protect against the ingestion of potentially toxic substances. TAS2R109 is involved in G-protein-mediated signaling that triggers the release of calcium ions from intracellular stores, leading to the activation of sensory neurons and the perception of bitterness. Beyond its role in taste perception, TAS2R109 has been implicated in non-gustatory physiological processes, including airway relaxation and modulation of gastrointestinal motility. Studies have identified genetic polymorphisms in TAS2R109 that correlate with variations in individual sensitivity to bitter compounds, affecting dietary choices and health outcomes.
