Note | Validity: The validity for this kit is 6 months. This product is for research use only. The range and sensitivity is subject to change. Please contact us for the latest product information. For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Taste Receptor Type 2 Member 105 (TAS2R105) is one of the bitter taste receptors localized primarily in taste bud cells of the tongue but is also found in various extra-oral tissues, such as the gut and respiratory system. This receptor plays a critical role in detecting a range of bitter compounds, serving as a defense mechanism against the ingestion of toxic substances. TAS2R105 signaling is mediated through G-protein-coupled pathways, triggering calcium release and neuronal activation to convey the sensation of bitterness. Studies have linked TAS2R105 activity to non-gustatory roles, including modulation of smooth muscle contraction and regulation of gut hormone secretion. Genetic variations in TAS2R105 are thought to contribute to individual differences in dietary preferences and bitter compound sensitivity.
