Procollagen Type I N-Terminal Propeptide (PINP) is a cleavage product released during the biosynthesis of type I collagen, which is the most abundant collagen type found in bones, skin, and connective tissues. It serves as a sensitive and specific biomarker for bone formation, reflecting the activity of osteoblasts and the overall rate of collagen synthesis.
