For accurate results, sample concentrations must be diluted to mid-range of the kit. If you require a specific range, please contact us in advance or write your request in your order comments. Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
ALKBH4 is a nuclear enzyme that functions as a lysine demethylase, specifically targeting methylated lysine residues on non-histone proteins. ALKBH4 plays a critical role in cytoskeletal dynamics, particularly by demethylating actin, which regulates actin filament assembly and cellular motility. Its activity ensures proper cytokinesis, cell shape maintenance, and migration during mitosis and development. ALKBH4 also participates in DNA repair and gene regulation by interacting with other proteins involved in chromatin remodeling and transcription. Dysregulation of ALKBH4 is linked to defects in cell division, genomic instability, and impaired cellular motility, contributing to developmental abnormalities and cancer progression. In cancer biology, ALKBH4’s regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics has been shown to promote cancer cell invasion and metastasis. Its role in demethylating non-histone proteins distinguishes ALKBH4 from other ALKB family members, highlighting its importance in post-translational modification and cellular homeostasis.

ALKBH4 antibody
Dioxygenase that mediates demethylation of actin monomethylated at 'Lys-84'(K84me1), thereby acting as a regulator of actomyosin-processes. Demethylation of actin K84me1 is required for maintaining actomyosin dynamics supporting normal cleavage furrow ingression during cytokinesis and cell migration. May be involved in transcription regulation.
