LRRC36 is a poorly understood member of the leucine-rich repeat-containing family with bioinformatics analyses suggesting potential roles in transcriptional regulation and cellular signal transduction its expression has been documented in tissues such as the brain and reproductive organs where it may influence cell differentiation and development studies propose that LRRC36 interacts with nuclear receptor pathways potentially modulating the transcription of genes involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation although its specific molecular mechanisms remain unclear emerging evidence indicates it may participate in epigenetic regulation by interacting with chromatin-remodeling complexes its dysregulation has been tentatively linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and reproductive abnormalities further investigation is required to elucidate its precise biological functions and potential applications in understanding developmental biology and epigenetic control
