Background

Interleukin 20 (IL20) is a member of the IL-10 cytokine family, which includes structurally related cytokines like IL-19, IL-22, IL-24, and IL-26. These cytokines share common biological functions in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and tissue homeostasis. IL-20, in particular, is predominantly associated with the modulation of skin, lung, and other epithelial tissues, where it exerts its effects on inflammation, tissue repair, and the innate immune response. IL-20 is produced by various cell types, including monocytes, keratinocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts.
