Descripción

Mouse Free Fatty Acid Receptor 4 (FFAR4) Protein is a Recombinant Mouse protein expressed in E. coli.

Background

FFAR4, also known as GPR120, is a G protein-coupled receptor activated by long-chain free fatty acids, including omega-3 fatty acids such as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). FFAR4 is expressed in adipocytes, macrophages, and the gastrointestinal tract, where it regulates metabolism, inflammation, and insulin sensitivity. In adipose tissue, FFAR4 activation enhances insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake, while in macrophages, it suppresses pro-inflammatory signaling pathways, such as NF-κB, reducing chronic inflammation. FFAR4 also promotes the release of gut hormones like GLP-1, contributing to satiety and glucose homeostasis. Dysregulation of FFAR4 signaling is associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and inflammatory diseases, highlighting its role in metabolic and immune regulation. In cancer, FFAR4 activation has shown potential anti-tumor effects by modulating inflammation and cellular metabolism. FFAR4 is being explored as a therapeutic target for metabolic disorders, obesity, and inflammatory diseases due to its ability to mediate the beneficial effects of omega-3 fatty acids.

form

Lyophilized To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.
