Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
ATP Binding Cassette Subfamily G Member 3 (ABCG3) is a protein that belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, which is involved in the translocation of various molecules across cellular membranes using energy derived from ATP hydrolysis. Although less studied than other ABC transporters, ABCG3 is thought to play roles in drug transport, lipid metabolism, and cellular detoxification processes. ABCG3 is expressed in various tissues, with some evidence suggesting it may contribute to the regulation of intracellular cholesterol and lipid homeostasis. Its activity may also protect cells from xenobiotic toxicity by mediating the efflux of harmful compounds. Emerging research points to its potential role in multidrug resistance in cancer, similar to other ABC transporters, where it may contribute to reduced intracellular drug accumulation and therapy evasion. Understanding the specific physiological and pathological roles of ABCG3 is still an ongoing area of investigation, with implications for cancer biology, pharmacology, and metabolic diseases.
