Please note that our ELISA and CLIA kits are optimised for detection of native samples, rather than recombinant proteins. We are unable to guarantee detection of recombinant proteins, as they may have different sequences or tertiary structures to the native protein. |
Descripción
Apoptosis Inducing Factor Mitochondria Associated 3 (AIFM3) is a mitochondrial protein belonging to the apoptosis-inducing factor family, which is involved in regulating programmed cell death and maintaining cellular homeostasis. Unlike AIFM1, which translocates to the nucleus during apoptosis to induce DNA fragmentation, AIFM3 is primarily localized within the mitochondria and functions to maintain mitochondrial integrity and energy metabolism. It plays a role in redox homeostasis and may act as a safeguard against oxidative stress by modulating mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Dysregulation of AIFM3 has been implicated in cancer, where altered apoptotic signaling contributes to tumor survival and chemoresistance. Emerging studies suggest that AIFM3 may also participate in non-apoptotic pathways, such as cellular differentiation and response to metabolic stress, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention in mitochondrial dysfunction-related diseases and cancer.
