Descripción
Members of this family exhibit elongated N-termini and harbor multiple functional domains. They are implicated in immune system functions and central nervous system activities. Through alternative splicing, numerous transcript variants are generated, encoding diverse isoforms. ADGRG3, also referred to as GPR97, is an adhesion GPCR expressed in immune cells such as B lymphocytes and macrophages. It regulates immune responses and cellular adhesion during inflammation and tissue repair. ADGRG3 is linked to processes like macrophage activation and migration. Dysregulation of ADGRG3 is implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer, highlighting its role as a potential target for immunotherapy and cancer treatment.
