Descripción
IL10 is an anti-inflammatory cytokine produced by macrophages, T regulatory cells, and other immune cells to suppress excessive immune responses and maintain tissue homeostasis IL10 signaling occurs through the IL-10 receptor (IL10R) and activates the JAK/STAT3 pathway, inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL1β, and IL6 It plays a pivotal role in immune tolerance, limiting damage caused by chronic inflammation and infections Dysregulation of IL10 expression is associated with autoimmune diseases, such as Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, and psoriasis IL10 also exerts immunosuppressive effects in the tumor microenvironment, facilitating tumor progression and immune evasion due to its inhibitory influence on T cells and antigen-presenting cells IL10-based therapies are being explored for managing inflammatory diseases and promoting immune modulation in cancer and chronic infections
