Background
MFAP4 is a glycoprotein that plays a key role in the structural organization and function of the extracellular matrix (ECM), particularly in tissues requiring elasticity such as blood vessels, lungs, and skin. It interacts with elastin and fibrillin-containing microfibrils to support elastic fiber assembly and stability, contributing to tissue elasticity and resilience.
