Background

MRGPRX1 is a member of the MAS-related G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family, which is involved in various sensory and immune functions. It is primarily expressed in sensory neurons, particularly in the skin and mucosal tissues. MRGPRX1 plays a critical role in mediating itch sensations and allergic responses. It is activated by specific neuropeptides, such as substance P and various mast cell mediators, which lead to the activation of intracellular signaling pathways.
