Limbic System Associated Membrane Protein (LSAMP) is a critical cell adhesion molecule that plays a vital role in the limbic system, a set of brain structures involved in emotion, behavior, long-term memory, and olfaction. LSAMP is part of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell adhesion molecules (IgCAMs) and is implicated in neural development and synaptic plasticity.
