Descripción
LRRC28 is a protein implicated in cellular signaling and extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions expressed predominantly in stromal cells and tissues undergoing active remodeling studies suggest its role in modulating cell adhesion migration and ECM organization particularly during tissue repair and fibrotic processes its expression is upregulated in response to mechanical stress and injury where it contributes to wound healing by regulating fibroblast activity and collagen deposition LRRC28 has also been linked to cancer-associated stromal biology where its dysregulation influences tumor progression through effects on ECM stiffness and cancer-associated fibroblast activity bioinformatics data associate LRRC28 with integrin-mediated signaling and focal adhesion pathways further research is needed to elucidate its precise molecular mechanisms and to explore its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in fibrotic diseases and tumor microenvironment regulation
