Descripción
LRRC25 is an innate immune receptor predominantly expressed in neutrophils and macrophages where it plays a role in mediating the immune response against infections and cellular stress it functions as a regulator of toll-like receptor (TLR) and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathways essential for pro-inflammatory cytokine production and pathogen clearance studies show that LRRC25 is involved in the recognition of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) and pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) facilitating the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection or injury it also participates in the regulation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) which are critical in trapping and neutralizing pathogens dysregulated LRRC25 activity has been linked to chronic inflammatory diseases and autoimmune disorders ongoing research is investigating its potential role as a therapeutic target in modulating hyperactive inflammatory responses and its involvement in the crosstalk between innate and adaptive immunity
