Descripción
LRFN2 is highly expressed in the CNS, particularly in excitatory neurons, where it regulates synaptic development and neurotransmitter release. Its LRR and FNIII domains mediate interactions with synaptic proteins to influence synapse formation and plasticity. LRFN2 is implicated in modulating neuronal activity and maintaining synaptic balance. Dysregulation of LRFN2 is linked to cognitive impairments and psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and anxiety.
