Background
IGSF2, also known as CD101, is a glycoprotein expressed on immune cells, including T cells, dendritic cells, and monocytes. It plays a role in regulating immune responses, particularly in modulating T cell activation and promoting immune tolerance. Structurally, IGSF2 contains multiple Ig-like domains, which enable interactions with other immune cell receptors and ligands. IGSF2 has been implicated in inflammatory diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), where its dysregulation may contribute to immune hyperactivation. It is also being studied for its role in tumor immunity and autoimmune disease susceptibility.
