Background

SH2D7 is an SH2 domain-containing adaptor protein involved in cytoskeletal organization, cell adhesion, and migration. It is expressed in tissues with dynamic cellular activity, including epithelial, immune, and connective tissues, where it participates in pathways that regulate actin cytoskeletal remodeling and focal adhesion stability. SH2D7 interacts with phosphotyrosine-containing signaling proteins, linking receptor activation to downstream processes such as cell motility and adhesion during tissue development and repair. Dysregulation of SH2D7 has been associated with cancer and tissue remodeling disorders, where it promotes abnormal cell migration and adhesion, contributing to metastasis and invasion. Functional studies suggest that SH2D7 regulates cellular responses to extracellular matrix cues, highlighting its role in maintaining cellular architecture and facilitating tissue integrity during development and disease progression.
