SEMA3B (Semaphorin 3B) is known for its tumor-suppressive properties, particularly in lung and breast cancers, where its expression is often downregulated. Acting through neuropilin and plexin receptors, SEMA3B influences apoptosis, cell proliferation, and migration. It has roles in embryonic development, where it contributes to organogenesis and angiogenesis by modulating vascular patterning. The loss or mutation of SEMA3B is implicated in cancer progression and metastasis, making it a significant focus for therapeutic interventions aiming to restore its tumor-suppressive functions.
