Form
Lyophilized To keep the original salt concentration, we recommend reconstituting to the original concentration prior to lyophilization (see Concentration) in ddH2O. If a lower concentration is required, dilute in PBS, pH 7.4. If a higher concentration is required, the product can be reconstituted directly in PBS, pH 7.4, though please note that this will change the overall salt concentration. The stock concentration should be between 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex.

Descripción

PTPRE is a receptor-like protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays essential roles in cellular signaling, particularly in hematopoietic and neuronal systems. Structurally, PTPRE exists as two isoforms: a transmembrane receptor-type protein (RPTPε) and a non-receptor, intracellular cytoplasmic form (cyt-PTPε). Both isoforms share a common catalytic domain but differ in localization and functional regulation. PTPRE is involved in modulating signaling pathways such as those mediated by Src family kinases, integrins, and MAPK pathways. It influences osteoclast differentiation, insulin signaling, and energy metabolism. In the nervous system, PTPRE regulates ion channel activity and neuronal excitability. Dysregulation of PTPRE has been linked to metabolic disorders, including insulin resistance, and its overexpression can contribute to oncogenic signaling pathways in certain cancers.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported, at least two of which encode a receptor-type PTP that possesses a short extracellular domain, a single transmembrane region, and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains; another one encodes a PTP that contains a distinct hydrophilic N-terminus, and thus represents a nonreceptor-type isoform of this PTP. Studies of the similar gene in mice suggested the regulatory roles of this PTP in RAS related signal transduction pathways, cytokine-induced SATA signaling, as well as the activation of voltage-gated K+ channels.
